Interested in Becoming a Mentor?

Are you persistent, curious, AND thrive in the face of adversity? Do you see the unique value children with special educational needs bring to the world? Can you lead AND follow? If so, becoming a STLP mentor is right for you!

We are looking for asset-centered mentoring, and mentors who understand the growth mindset, appreciate the unique value children with special needs bring to this world as well as the unique challenges they may face in adulthood as neurodiverse people of color.

We also seek mentors who will be persistent in the face of rejection, have a strong constitution, have lived experience with adversity, welcome the higher level needs of the children in the STLP, and/or are willing to go the extra mile.  We hope you will join us!

Time Commitment:

  • 2.5 hours of trainings prior to the start of the program

  • 6 hours/month of direct mentorship (can be virtual, by phone, includes one monthly community event)
